One sideline interest is Australia's carbon capture and storage (CCS) research effort. This has come about through our involvement as a facilities engineering advisor to Australia's Cooperative Research Centre for Greenhouse Gas Technologies (CO2CRC) Services to managers We provide services directly to engineering and production managers and their team within large organizations. We also assist smaller enterprises that lack specific process engineering expertise needed at the early stages of project development. The big-league engineering consultants with which we are familiar - such as WorleyParsons, GHD or Aker Kvaerner Australia - these organizations undertake very large projects. They carry out FEED studies (front end engineering design) followed by detailed engineering and procurement. This engineering work usually involves many thousands of hours work for their multi-disciplined team of staff engineers and draftsmen. By contrast, we are able to give our full attention to small, more specialized process / conceptual engineering studies ("pre-FEED") that require considerable process engineering experience and judgment. We work directly with the client. This may involve working in his offices, providing better communications and a sense of ideas-ownership through cooperative effort. We bring to the job our familiarity with the high quality standards of the big engineering consultants. This is because from time to time we provide services to those organizations, acting as either sub-consultant or as team member on FEED studies and /or EPC contracts associated with the development of new gas / coal seam methane production facilities in Australia. Geoff is a chemical engineer with over 30 years experience in the Australian oil & gas production sector. His early training was by Esso Australia as a process engineer at Esso-BHP's integrated oil & gas production facility located in Gippsland, Victoria.
